Our 5-Year Workmanship Warranty
We stand behind our installation. If our workmanship causes a problem in the first 5 years, we fix it — at no cost to you.
A new roof is only as good as the crew that installs it. That's why every roof we install is backed by our 5-year workmanship warranty — our written promise that if a problem is caused by our installation, we'll come back and make it right at no cost to you.
Two warranties protect your roof
- The manufacturer's material warranty — covers the roofing products themselves against manufacturing defects, often for decades. Because we're factory-certified installers for GAF, Atlas & Owens Corning and Tile Roofing Industry (TRI) Alliance members, many of our installations qualify for enhanced manufacturer warranty options.
- Our 5-year workmanship warranty — covers the installation labor. Flashing details, fastening, underlayment, penetrations — the craftsmanship that determines whether a roof actually performs.
Most roof problems in the first years of a roof's life come from installation errors, not bad materials — and a manufacturer's material warranty generally won't cover a labor mistake. That's the gap our workmanship warranty closes.
What's covered
- Leaks or failures caused by installation workmanship
- Flashing, fastening, and detail work we performed
- Repair of the affected roofing at no charge, including labor
What's not covered
- Storm, hurricane, hail, or impact damage (that's an insurance matter, not a workmanship issue)
- Damage from foot traffic, alterations, or repairs by anyone other than Providential
- Normal wear, or lack of routine maintenance
Your project contract spells out the full warranty terms for your specific roof — your dedicated project manager will walk you through them before we ever start work, so there are no surprises.
Why we can put it in writing
We're a dual-licensed roofing and building contractor (CCC1333042 / CRC1333797) with more than 1,000 completed projects and a BBB A+ rating. A dedicated project manager supervises every job from estimate to final inspection — that's how we keep quality high enough to guarantee it for 5 years.
Warranty questions, answered
What does a workmanship warranty cover?
The quality of the installation itself. If a problem traces back to an installation error — a leak at a flashing detail, improperly fastened material — we fix it at no cost for 5 years after installation.
How is it different from the manufacturer's warranty?
The manufacturer covers the materials; we cover the labor. You need both — a great shingle installed poorly will still leak, and material warranties generally exclude installation errors.
Does it cover storm damage?
No. Hurricanes, hail, and fallen trees aren't workmanship issues. If a storm damages your roof, we'll inspect it and document the damage with a professional photo report you can use however you need.
Is it transferable if I sell my home?
Transferability and full terms are spelled out in your project contract — ask your project manager and we'll walk you through exactly what applies to your roof.
